I am single, and therefore have only 1 income for the household..I maybe buy something new 2-3 times a year...other than that, I do all my shopping at thrift stores and yard sales..i get good clothes for usually about $1 or less. I know they aren't new, but who cares? I have far better things to do with what little money I make than to spend it all at the mall. I have found some of the best clothes at these places, and no one knows that they werent bought new off the rack.

Same here..and if you don't tell anyone..they don't know it's not from a new store..Once you wash and press an item..it will look as good as new..

I buy stuff new and i go to thrift stores, i usually go to the rescue mission here in town and the bargin box, the goodwill store and a discount childrens consignment store, i also shop yard sales and garage sales looking for bargins. Some things i will only buy new, but i am always looking for a bargin!!!

I agree..there are certain "things" I have to have new but most things I have are second hand..and no one knows this but me and those who sold it to me and God..Lots of savings going to the thrift store!+

I do both. I go shopping for new things. But I also love to go to thrift stores, because you can find some great things there.

I am like you..many times the regular stores dont have the things I am looking for..I go to the goodwill or thriftstore and there it is.
Sometimes people are afraid to buy something that is used..but that is why most folks have a washing machine..you simply have to put them in the washer and you will have a nice clean new outfit.

I always buy from thrift stores. It's a lot cheaper. Then I can save my money for things that are really important to me - like travelling!
