It seems more and more reality T.V. is taking over regular programming. What is the fasination with these shows? Why do people want to see the lives of everyday people? what do you think.

I loathe reality tv. But I think a lot of people like to watch them because they can feel better about themselves. They see what foolish things these people do, and can feel superior. It's all about how it can make you feel. People want to believe they're superior to someone. These shows give them a chance to sort of prove it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It's strange to me why people need to feel superior to others, but they do. To me that need makes them inferior.

I agree. One should find one's worth in oneself. Not on a tv show. That's not real, even if it is called reality tv. I sure wouldn't act very real if there was a camera watching me. I couldn't. I'd always be thinking about it, not what I was doing. I'd probably cut my hand off or something equally stupid!
