Yes, I have and I was totall unimpressed. I thought I was submitting my poem to a poetry contest but everyone who submits is told they win. They publish everyones poetry, and sell there poems, and not a single poet earns anything off their own works. Only good thing about poetry.com is the free exposure..
Otherwise I recommend http://www.poetic-licence.org
It is an older style site, it is small has a wonderful poetry community, and they will even help you improve your writing...

Thanks for the great insight, and that link I will have to go there and check it out. I have to agree with you. I have submitted incomplete stuff just to see if they would send me the win letter like before and it is true they publish every poem whether it makes sense or not, I was hopeing someone here would have a different take on them.
But we have shared some sites that are awesome for poetry. Hopefully everyone will be able to get some insight from them.
Thanks for the response.

I felt deviantart.com when it was less commercial was a fantastic place to write and be seen, however as with any place (just as here) there's a liability of being lost in the rush.

Exactly I know how you feel the topics run by so fast and even now that mylot has changed it they still disappear within a blink of an eye. I haven't been to the link you shared yet, but I will go check it out as I love to write and see what others have done.
Thanks for the response.

I have written a couple of poems on Lovingyou.com. Yes, these sites grow and we seem to get lost in the crowd.

Yeah, poetry is fun, especially when you get people to try and figure out what is it that you mean exactly.

Poetry.com is in my opinion nothing more than a ruse. You could write something really stupid and they would tell you you are a winner and then offer to sell you an over-priced book. Some of the poetry is soooo bad but hey...you write it, you can win and buy!

I'm not much of a poet (short stories are more my thing) I am a moderator at writing.com and while there have heard a few similar thoughts about poetry.com - though I can't personally verify any of it. From what I gather they basically want you to purchase their published books.
If you've never visited writing.com you may want to take a look, there are many poets etc there who love to read and review your works. You may not win anything (other than perhaps site related awards) but you'll certainly meet a lot of like minded people.

I do like making poetry as well. The other time I had written one for my ex boyfriend and he seems to like it. I don't right poems nowadays because am busy at the moment. But everytime I am in the mood I usually see to it that I create some poetry and whenever I do I feel happy.
