We can all guess about the ratings, responses, commenting to the responses we receive from discussions, etc. Mylot really needs to give us a more specific breakdown of how they calculate these. Maybe if we all send a post to Mylot regarding this, they will supply us with a breakdown. Until then, it is just a guessing game.

I like to give the + ratings, and will probably be doing even more of it. I have to be really ticked off to do the - rating, I am much more likely to just give someone a !. I enjoy the give and take, I do not know if I would change much of what I do if I knew how much credit people were getting for my rating.

I figured people get something for + ratings. I try and give + ratings to everyone. I think most people here try and do a good job at conversing. Some don't and would rather harass, and that's when I give something other than +. If I am going to answer a question I usually give a + to the question, otherwise why would I answer it.

That is a different way to think about it. I am also fond of giving = ratings to people in other discussions, just because I learn something or am in some way touched by what they say.

i guess mylot has a formula for + rating, another for - rating, another for best response, and so on.
i suggest you seek other mylot members discussions on this matter coz they've had thorough analyses and are truly successful using their methods

If you rate a person + he'll get some credit for his response and would get some bonus from MYLOT. I'm not sure about this one. But you cannot see who rated you a plus or how many plus you got from a person. Except if you get rated for the best response only you and others can see it.

I am glad to know that it makes a difference if I give a plus, even if it is not my discussion.
