The twelve to fourteen hour range is about right for sleeping.
My daughters are now 9 y/o so it's been a few years since they were this young, but to answer your question about getting them back to sleep:
I'd sing to them. I love to sing. Of course, my singing voice resembles the warble of a dying toad, but back then they loved it. Nowadays they eihter make a face or run screaming from the room when they hear me sing, but I tell them they had better taste in music when they were younger anyway....

i think that the baby should sleep for around half the day (twelve hours). The baby would probably sleep and wake-up several times a fay; but just put him/her back to sleep if they wake-up; otherwise, you might be disturbed when you are asleep! Good luck with all your baby troubles.

It is not so easy just to put him/her back to sleep. do you have any babies? If so, how do you put your baby back to sleep?

your baby should sleep in the morning, afternoon and evening... sometimes when a baby wake-up 6am in the morning it will sleep after 2-3hrs for 3hrs then in the afternoon it will depends 3-4hrs then at night im sure sometimes the baby is playing... hehehe...it is very hard but it is worth it..

I don't know really but my daughter sleeps for about 11 hours over night, then she'll have an hour long nap in the morning & another 1 - 1 1/2 hour nap after lunch.
It's probably not as much as she needs but she'll let me know if she's tired!
