When you lose WEIGHT, where does it go?

All fats, whether solid or liquid, exist in chemical form as triglycerides, which consist of a glycerol molecule and three fatty acid chains. Each triglyceride macromolecule’s appearance is similar to the letter E—with the glycerol being the vertical line and the fatty acids as the three horizontal lines. Many of these triglycerides are stored as droplets of oil within the fat cells that make up the fat tissue located throughout the body. When we trimming or exercise the fat will turn in to triglycerides and will absorb by the body. But body loses its weight. How? (source: http://www.indianpad.com/story/22885 )

well i wish i could make sense of what ya just said but ill try LOL, hmm i know that when you excercise you need energy and you burn fat and such to get that energy , now like with atkins like im on since i dont eat carbs or sugar like most to get energy my body takes energy from the fat i have in my body as far as i know .... im assuming that we also loose some of the weight thru sweat and such basicly our body getting rid of toxins in our body ... bottom line the more fat ya burn the leaner you get and you build more muscle than fat ~M~

I don't think spangles said you'll lose weight by building muscle. What happens is muscle is more metabolically active than fat. So if you have more muscle, your metabolism will be higher so you'll burn more energy, and as a result, you will lose more fat.

Fat is converted into muscle, which weighs lesser.

Actually, fat and muscle are two different things, and one does not convert to the other. Sure, excercising will work and tone your muscles, while shedding yourself of excess fat, but it won't convert your fat to muscle. YOu'll just see the muscle more because there will be less fat. Also, muscle weighs A LOT more than fat, not the opposite.

The fat burns and give us energy. Remaining things go out with human excreta.

Dr. Oz on Oprah explained that very question. He said that the fat stored in fat cells just melts away, but leaves the cells there in the body. So if you became really fat, you would have a lot of fat cells just waiting to get fat again. Compared to someone who never got fat, doesn't have that many fat cells. I'm sure his book explains it better than I did.

Yes but we actually lose the weight because your breaks down the fat storage because it needs more energy. It kind of like you body is digesting the fatty foods it ate years ago. Your body expends the energy in whatever exercise you are doing and excess gets excreted (in the for of sweat, urine, etc.

We lose weight because as the body absorbs the triglycerides, it uses the engery stored within it. After abosorbing all of the energy available in those sources, the body descretes the left overs in multiple forms (urine, fecies, etc..).

Yeah, this sounds right. We gain fat because we take in too much. Meaning the fat we see on the outside is just stored parts of food that we ate too much of.

Fat is only lost when it is used. The entire purpose of fat is to preserve heat in the body, in some cases, and be an extra source of energy when your supplies are low. When you lose wieght, your using more energy than you bloodstream and currently digesting food can provide. That means the fat all around your body is tapped into to fuel the cells to continue working. That's why the most affective diets follow the premise of use more engery than your taking in. Whether that be just eating less, or exercising more.

when you body begins to metabolize fat you begin a process called ketosis (probably misspelled) in which the fat breakes down and is passed in urine. you can see this when you go it looks like oily pee for lack of better explanation.

Ketosis is actually an unhealthy state, in which muscle proteins are burnt as energy instead of fat. Ketosis is a state in which protein is "spilt" in the urine, and is the first step in a very dangerous and life threatening state called "acidosis".

wikipedia: Ketosis should not be confused with ketoacidosis, which is severe ketosis causing the pH of the blood to drop below 7.2. Ketoacidosis is a medical condition usually caused by diabetes and accompanied by dehydration, hyperglycemia, ketonuria and increased levels of glucagon. The high glucagon, low insulin serum levels signals the body to produce more glucose via gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis and ketogenesis. High levels of glucose causes the failure of tubular reabsorption in the kidneys, causing water to leak into the tubules in a process called osmotic diuresis, causing dehydration and further exacerbating the acidosis.

What happens to electricity wen it passes thru the circuits in ur tv or comp ....???!?!?!?!?!?!?! It is converted into diff forms of energy .. Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed but can be changed from one form to another! same way fats chnges into triglycerides and it squeezes out all the water from ur body .....water has a lotta weight ..
