Is drinking freezing cold water can give you cough or colds?

my grandparents say i can get cough from doing so.. is it true?

Yes it can. It not only gave me that, I had a sore throat for drinking cold water.

Yes, it is. I can't drink cold water. It makes me sore throat, and influence with having a cold and cough.

I dont't think so. I think cough or cold comes only when the cool air gets into your ears or nose. You can see many times that when your ears are covered with some thing, you don't feel cold at all...
