What is the difference between Stainless Steel and Brushed Steel?

they are both strainlees steel one is nottextured and then other is... It's just that the brushed steel has been butted to created a desing. the main difference is this with stainless steel you well see lots of finger print often with brushed steel, they won't show as much or as often.

If I remember correctly, when we were buying appliances for the kitchen.....stainless steel has a smooth polished surface, mirror-like. Brushed steel is burnished(brushed, scuffed) so that it has a slight slight 'texture' to remove the mirror-like surface. Each is highly reflective but the brushed is less directly reflective. But then again I am NOT a professional decorator, merely givnig the information I remember.
