birthday party theme for a 1 year old baby

I have a son who will turn 1 year old in a few months. Since this will be his first birthday party, I want it to be special and memorable. I need help on what party theme would fit a 1 year old baby. Also, what games or shows should I include in the party? I realized he will not have the patience to watch a magic show nor will have the capability to join the usual birthday party games. Any suggestions?

For my daughters first birthday we did bright colors with butterflies. So maybe your theme could be more color related? Maybe primary colors with building blocks and instead of games just open presents early and let those be the games.

So, do I still need a clown to host my party? I have guests who are 6 years old, don't i need to plan an entertainment for them like games?

Winnie the Pooh seems quite nice, and here in South Africa they are making a lot of baby goods depicting him. He is also quite a colourful little character. I think any theme you decide on will be nice as long as it is colourful for the children. First birthdays are special and I hope you all have a good party.
