This is a great way to "Pay It Forward" ....Designated driving.

No DD - Say it AGAIN. Drinking and Driving DON'T mix. Be a designated driver, not a drunk driver.

Remember in the movie, Pay it Forward, the idea was to do something nice for someone and then encourage them to pass the favor forward to as many people as they could and then to have them continue the chain forward. This was instead of paying back a favor to the person who did it to you. My idea for the holidays is to put this in practice by being a designated driver to my drinking friends as many times as I am needed. Perhaps there have been times in your life when your friends have driven you home or let you stay over after drinking too much. Why don't you consider Paying It Forward by being the DD this year? If you don't have to return or pay forward any favors, why don't you consider it anyway. It could be doing a favor for other drivers, families and children who will be protected because you are keeping someone drunk out of the driver seat.

Lovely film and a fantastic idea of yours. I used to work in head injury intensive care unit when I was a younger nurse, and know the absolutely terrible things that happen to people as a result of being drunk in charge of a petrol bomb. Well done you, hope more people think like you. I tend to use taxis if I go into the city to party, otherwise we walk to the pub and walk back again (it is very sobering walking back when it is cold). Have a lovely Christmas

I know what you mean about walking home in the cold. I've done that. Or the rain. Bless you for your work as a nurse. Merry Christmas.

First I'd like to say that I love this movie, it's one of my favorites. I think your idea of paying it forward by being a D.D. is a great one. I'm definitely going to pass this along to people I know who party a lot. Whenever a person steps up and becomes the DD, they are being heros, saving lives, and what greater gift could there be? Great idea!
