i think the saddest movie i ever saw is one called brassed off. it is the story of a coal mine in the yorkshire area of northern england and the brass band run by the pit. The story tells of the policies of the tory government under mrs Thatcher. The pit is closed and the story goes onto look at what happens to the miners and their families and what happens to the brass band. The story is based on true events,, and is very important to me. I cry every time i watch this film having been involved in the brass band movement, and living through the Thatcher regime.

A. I. the movie - a sad movie with a robot that could never be loved like he was able to love. The bear was a favorite of ours and would be cool to have one of our own. We would love the A. I. boy and welcome him to our home.
A. I. was our most depressing. The boy who was a robot, a great one and programmed to love, was sooo alone in the end. A replacement for a child lost he was never truly accepted. Although the aliens in the end tried to make him happy, they didn't really succeed.

I agree with you. A.I. was one of the saddest movies that I've seen. But it's beautiful I think.

I thought RENT was pretty depressing, overall. It was also very good, though. The best movie... I have too many favorites.
