Right now she is helping her 8 year old sister clean up her floor in the bedroom. Thanks in advance.

My grandson loves to set the table for meals. He also will sweep and mop. The job isn't 100%, but he does enjoy it.

Here are some ideas I have: Pick up her own toys, help set the table, help clear the table.

do you think I am being too harsh in giving her chores? It is not fair for her older sister to always pick up her messes, or me to pick up both...and hubbys. They both need to learn to be neater....and be more respectful of the house, and not be so messy. They need to care!

She can learn to set and clear the table. Get the serving utensils for food on the table. Have her use a little dust brush and dust pan to sweep up crumbs. Pick up her own dirty clothes and get them to the hamper. Fold towels, or especially wash cloths. Dust anything she can reach. Sort and put away silverware. Throw away junk mail. She is of an age she will like to help.

Heya, Maybe set chores will be a but hard for her but i dont see whats wrong with her giving a general hand around the house. I ask my three year old to help me fetch the dirty clothes and put them in the machine. and she 'tries' to help with the sweeping. I also let her rinse the dishes as we have a double sink, i wash them then she stacks them to be dried. in fact she will 'try to help with just about any chore i ask her too. it is surely the thought that counts, and teaching her to be productive. yes, thanks. My four year old does help with the dishes. That is the one thing I can get her to do. She will help with the baking ...(who wouldn't) And on occassion she will want to set the table. Thanks for your response.
