i'm 19, i've had ocd for about three years now and i'm finally trying to tackle it head on. The thing is i've kind of isolated myself these past three years, only really hanging out with my brother and seeing people occaisionally for brief chats. Now that i'm trying to build up a social network again, i'm finding it hard to have the sharpness and general humour that i used to. Is it possible for someones personality to change forever, i mean is it possible to get my old peresonality back and be who i used to be or am i just stuck with who i am now. any help is much appreciated, i just feel a bit defeated at the minute

Just relax. Dont try so hard. Rather the harder you try more difficult you would find. Take a chill and try to be yourself. You may gain back your old personality naturally.

Loosing personality is loosing moral value in society. It is not that, personality can not be gained if it is lost due to any region. But main thing is to get back your personality is to keep a place at the people heart for you. And this not impossible but difficult. A self study is required before giving up last hope. A positive attitude is always required & Time & Money, these two things plays vital roles developing personality also. good luck..

why not? Personality is not depend what you know about yourself. But what U want to and what U think of. if U want to do it, JUST DO IT ^^ wehehehe that's simple. Good Luck ^^

personality is personal. it cannot be changed. behavioural aspects can be changed according to the circumstances. but basic personality remains for ever.

i guess a person can't loose his personality forever. But a person may get hurted psychologically however, he can recover himself.

Nope I dont think so. It's always up to you if you want to win back your personality for it is your own body. Everybody has the right to choose what we want to be.

My suggestion is, don't try to be who you were 3 years ago, the time makes the persons change, and every change of our personality is natural and not reversible, so you should not try to turn back in your old personality but just try to open up yourself with your actual personality, try to see yourself in other ways, and to put yourself in relation with people in a serene way!

Your "old" personality hasnt gone anywhere, you are just in a different mental place in life now...slowly if you keep being you and if you slowly reintroduce yourself to the things you used to love your core personality will re-emerge IMO....it takes doing in a way but its not impossible...plus you have to remember that because things have happened in life some of your old traits havent disappeared but may have changed a little because of life experiences....you'll view life a little differently as well I'm sure which also will alter how you see, think and react...its not changed completely just evolved I guess you could say....but no your true core being hasnt gone anywhere....

People do change with time. Personality does undergo change but I feel the morals and values of a person are always the same. The base is always the same.
