ok.....here's the situation. I think Donnie is an alcoholic, yet he says no he isn't. Everyday after work, he and his boss drink two twelve packs between them. On days they don't work, they drink from around 10 am (or earlier) until around 10 pm (or later). Thats on the days he's NOT in town with me. Is this an alcoholic?

I am a 43 year old man, and in my younger days I drank at about the same pace as this Donnie. I still drink alot but have slowed down some. Why is his drinking a problem to you? Is the money he spends? Does he become an a*hole when he drinks? I drank alot because I liked it and all my friends did.

yes, especially if he's denying it. that's pretty sad. Go to AA and get pamphlets that signify what defines an alky. this will probably piss him off, but it'll prove your point. I'm sorry, living with an alcohlic is the worst.

He definately is. You cannot change him if he doesn't want to be changed. Sounds like the boss isn't a great person for him to be around either. He needs to get counseling, or I wouldn't marry him. I couldn't be with someone who was drunk most of his life with me. What about when you have kids?

I'm not the one to say that he is an alcholic, and speaking from experience if that is alll that he does then I would watch out for even more negative times. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!

well at least he is your fiance and not your husband, so you have every chance of dealing with this problem now. And if you think he has one now, then he sure as hell will get worse when he has a wife to come home to.

I agree with you if it was just 1 or 2 then it would not be so bad but the amount he takes in yes I agree with you it is a lot to drink and to start at that time of the morning is awful

Umm, if you really need to ask that's not a good example of your judgement. That is excessive drinking, where in the world do the work? Somehow I don't quite believe this story!
