i'm not really familiar with the history of india or of Gandhi's direct impact on the liberation, for that matter. But i do know that gandhi was a very visible and important figure during the revolution. therefore, he more likely served as a catalyst for change. in other words, his presence mobilized people to act. Leaders are glorified not so much for what they do, but for how they impact the people they lead. it's the people/population in general that makes things happen. leaders like Gandhi basically gave them some direction/something to aim for.

if all indian's give vote r u like gandhi. the result is no. then why to celebrate his b'day & why his pic on indian courency.
