I just saw the Doctor Who finale for this season on Sci-Fi. I really liked it although the ending was a bit sad. I knew eventually they would get him a new woman or some sort of sidekick but I liked Rose. The two hour episode was great though. The humor they always managed to get in the show always makes me laugh. So I laughed, I cried, and laughed again. Did anyone else watch it? If so what did you think?

Yes I just saw it myself. They brought together all the surviving characters from the season for a big blowout. I actually got chills seeing the Daleks and Cybermen go at it. Just pure fun. This is what I have always loved about the series. They can put together an amazing story that brinks on absurd and make it plausable and fun to follow. It was a fitting ending for the season. They got to say their goodbyes which is more than I expected. I just as soon thought that Rose being saved by Pete at the last minute would have been the last The Doctor would ever see of her. I guess they felt a proper closure to their relationship was in order. I had read about Billie Piper leaving the series and was being replaced. (The UK viewers are much further ahead in the series than the American audience) I was not too sad about the goodbye scene. It was good way to end. I look forward to seeing the dynamic between The Doctor and the new companion.

I know we are behind the UK in seeing things but at least it's being shown here. Wasn't sure it would be. Oh the ending got me with the goodbye scene. Especially since he faded out before he could say he loved her. So I'm sentimental. The new companion though looks interesting especially how she just showed up there at the end. I just wish we didn't have to wait for the next season to start.

I had no idea Rose was leaving the show. It just broke my heart, especially after the scene at the beginning of the show when she told him she would stay with him forever. As to the new companion, I thought it was going to be the bride who just popped into the Tardis in the last few seconds of the show. I hated her on site. But I've read on the internet that she's just there for one episode then the real new companion, an actress who played another character in an earlier episode, will join the show. Same actress different character.

oh that is good to know. Yeah I had no clue she was leaving either until that episode. So the bride isn't hte new companion, that's good. I'll be curious to see what all happens next year.

Oh yes, i cried. It's so easy to put yourself in their shoes. I love David Tennant and Billy Piper is actually quite a good actress. Have you seen the Christmas special? It's great that he hasn't moved on from Rose but if you didn't like Catherine Tate you really wouldn't enjoy it.

I cried as well. Overall it was an excellent episode. Pulling together everything that had happened over the season and having it there. It was one of those episodes you laugh, you cry and then laugh again.

I know Catherine Tate wasnt supposed to be the sidekick, i think it wqas just a one off. If you go to www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho , the new sidekick is a black woman who, was in one fo the other episodes with the Cybermen in the Other dimension, does anyone remember her.

I love this show and I cried too. Several times in fact. I am really going to miss Rose tons. I just hope the people who have kept me supplied with the torrents to download the past seasons continue to be so generous. I can't wait for the new season to start. I just ordered the box set of season two and can't wait to see all the extras. I am looking forward to meeting the new plus one and forming a real opinion, not just disliking her because she took Rose's place.

Oh I know I'm goign to miss Rose. I liked her and her mother, she was really funny especially in that episode. I think the new one will have some tough shoes to fill. Torrents can come in handy especially if you miss an episode or trying to find something that isn't available in your area.

I, too, liked Rose. I really liked them together. It fit right. I didn't expect them to get rid of her. I laughed and cried too.

I know who the sidekcik id, but not sure where to find her, try www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho or www.doctorwho.co.uk, I know she was in one of the Cybermen episodes where she was in the alternate reality nd tha. Shes blakc, but not sure what her name was, all i remember she worked for Torchwood. Other news or rumour is that this will be the final season for David Tennant for playing The Doctor.

Oh my goodness I sobbed and sobbed. I watched it when it first played, cried for the last 15 min, then cried for 15 minutes after it ended. Then I watched it when it showed again and did exactly the same thing. Then I watched it a couple days later with my parents and did it again!!! Seriously, I need to go into therapy to deal with Rose leaving. it was too sad, and I totally was not expecting it.

Oh I could just picture a therapist for that. For all of us who have cried over a show or movie. They'd have a field day :) I cried as well although not that much. Hopefully though the new one will be good, true she has some big shoes to fill but she could be just as good. I think we'll have to wait, see and try to be open minded.

Now you have me very interested in this show. I had been seeing the commercials for it and thought it looked good! Plus the main character, I saw him in a show about Casa Nova and loved him...So I hope this show continues so I may watch it.

Well if you get a chance go ahead and watch. The actor who plays the Doctor right now is very good. The first one was ok but this one is much better. I'm glad they switched out actors. I will miss Rose though. She added a lot to the show. I hope the next companion is as good.

I was very sad to see Rose leave. I cried right along with her. I only started watching the show when Christopher Eccleston was playing the doctor, so seeing him replaced by David Tennant was difficult and now, after seeing Rose leave to be replaced by that chick in the bridal gown. I dunno... if I don't like the new series, I may not watch it again, which would be sad cause I really liked the show.

I agree. It was a great show. I cried at the end. I cannot wait to see the new companion. I know this is a bit off topic, but I hope Torchwood will be seen in the USA too. I had a friend send the first 3 of that show. It is cool, but more adult. Kinda like X-files.

Tirchwood, although I have only seen half of it is kind of like a corss between Doctor WHo and X-Files while the other spin-off kind of looks like Scooby Doo meets Doctor Who. If Torchwood airs over here I defintely recommend it, I missed Captain Jack.
