and you could only have rope or matches which would you have and why

ID rather have Matches.Because Ropes Could be more easily fabricated from nature than Spark or Fire. Besides I can fry the fish i caught from the sea . On the other hand i dont know how a rope is supposed to help me in any way other than suspend myself from some place.
