I have a newly six month old and she still wakes up every two hours if not every hour.My hubby is going crazy and wants to move her out of the room, I don't.I am the one that gets up with her not him.My question is should she not be waking up so much at night?I have two other children but it has been awhile and I don't remember getting up that much with them.Any help is greatly appriciated, thanks.

Oh, this is just the hardest thing, isn't it?? One of my children slept through the night when she was just under a year old and the other one was over a year old when I started to get a full night's sleep. My niece was up and down every night until she was 2 or 3. Many of my friends had babies that slept through within just a few weeks and I always wondered if I was doing something wrong. Both of my children napped very well during the day and I thought maybe I shouldn't let them do that and then they'd sleep all night. That wasn't the case. I tried to keep them up and they would just be really cranky and irritable and it didn't improve the night sleeping at all. They did sleep a little better once they started to eat more... but many people say that this is just a coincidence. I always say that the sleep deprivation is the hardest part of being a parent. I really hope that you can work out an arrangement with your hubby that suits everyone concerned. I never had either baby sleep in our room with us and I imagine if I had, it would have caused problems with my ex.

Well, thank you for your response. My little one has been getting alittle better these past few nights.I have only had to get up with her twice a night instead of every two hours to an hour.Thank goodness. The sleep deprivation is hard.It effects everything.

Every child is different. My 11 week old started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks. At first I thought it would be months before this happened but I was very happen when it did because I am a single parent. Maybe you should talk to your peditrician and see what they have to say about your 6 month old still not sleeping through the night.
