How Does My Friends Work? Does it create email?

Can somebody tell me how this My Friends thing really works. I'm new here and I have a 6 pending requests. It's sweet and if they just want to pick up a little money (Do they get money for that?) that okay too. I'm fine with that but what I don't want is a lot of messages. That would be just like email and email makes me batty. I have spam blocker up to high on two isps to get away from email. The only way I take it at all is through eBay's internal system which I also avoid as much as possible....So how does my friends work. Does it create a lot of email type stuff or is it okay to just put friends in your profile and loook at there postings from time to time???? Is there a way to approve friends but ask them not to message you too much?????

Mylot friends can contact each other
thru private messages on this site .
But most of Mylot friends do not contact
often . Friends will not get your mail
ID unless you give it .
Here Friendship is used to respond to
their topics . And your friends try
to reply in the topics started by you .
It is a mutual benifit method to help
each other . for this a special link

Yes you are absolutely right i agree with you here friends ship is use to see friends dicussion and communicate with them by Private messages etc. thanks dude

Once a friend accepts you, it gives you an option on the friends page to turn on or off notify. I believe notify is defaulted to the off position, which means you will not receive email messages when these people make discussions.

Hi Again! I decide to start slow and okayed three friends. Turns out one of them is a serial poster. He lists so many things that I can't even find the avatars for the other guys without scrolling through page after page. so I followed your advise and turned the Notify button off on him -- Think you deserve the "Best Response" for that bit of advice!

just accept the requests, no one disturbs other by sending messages... just to have mutual benifit of answering each others discussions.. just check the profiles to know the tastes.. if they match you can have great time to spend and earn simultaneously.
U DO GET AN E-MAIL FROM "MYLOT" EVERYTIME U GET A MESSAGE, BUT NOT FROM THE FRIEND DIRECTLY AS THEY DONT KNOW UR MAIL ID.
anyhow you do get an e-mail everytime the discussion u started gets a response,too,right?

Orkut? Were you confused when you wrote that? You mention Mylot and Orkut like they are the same? Just a little confused by this answer.
I pick my friends by what they have in their discussions started by them. I try to get people I can just look at what they have posted, and always have a choice of good topics.

hi irisheyes, welcome to mylot. My friends basically work for example you added someone as a friend you can see discussion that your friends started, and also friend discussion, also use in private messaging thing. You can also be notified if they started discussion or not. My friends does not create the ones like in the email thing.

in orkut, my friends is a very great thing. You can visit anyones profile and add themas friend and they will accept. And you dont need to have a body friend to send them message, so it is very good

I never mind making friends actually i already made 4 or something. Its not bad to have friends and yeah u can send private messages to friends.
So if anyone asking me for it i will simply accept. There is no harm in it.

Friends in mylot forum is work generally to having interesting topic which we want to reply. Coz we can get notify if our friend start new topic discussion. Just make active notification in each friend that you have. Coz for me, its more easily to find interesting topic discusion in our friend list than searching it per page of mylot. You also can contact them by using private message. About aprroving friend request, its up to you whether you want to approve or not. if you want them not giving you to much message just simply send them your private message about your minding :)

well i also get atleast one request per day,and i accept it.i think there is no problem of deny.nobody is annoying by spamming. if mylot is concerned then nobdy can contact each other without private message..
i think by help of friends.you can respond to their disscussion more effectively.this give mutual benifit to each other..
don't bother with e-mail.unless you giving it,nobody will know that!
