Should the guy have to pay for dinner or should you be able to split the check on a date?

A gentleman who invite you out on a date should pay the bill and not even think to ask his date to split the cost. This should also apply even if you invite him out any gentleman would pick up the tab of dinner, but nowadays we have few and far less gentlemen than we did if the pass being a genleman now is a part of the pass so it seem. But If I go out on a date I expect my date to pay for the meal or it will be our last date to be sure.

Don't get me wrong by what I said in the topic header. Any time I go out to dinner with a girl or anywhere I instinctively pick up the tab without asking. But I'm just asking if that should be the way things are.

I think that whoever asks should pay.

my boyfriend always pay for the bills whenever we're out for a meal. however,if in case at a certain point, he forgot his money, i'll gladly pay for the bill. i'm not against partners splitting bills. i find it cute and that they do understand each other.
