We all know that playing basketball do a lot good to us, and we gain much from it. As far as I am concerned, teamwork is the most valuable thing I learn from basketball game. Teamwork is also very important in our job. What do you think? What's the most valuable thing you gain from it?

Yes you are totally right, basketball is one game that develops our teamwork ability. However, I do not practice basketball in an organised manner. We play mostly amongst friends, and the most valuable thing for me is the entertainment and the relaxation that this sport gives you.

I play basket for a city team since i was about 9-10 years .. basketball is not about MVP or just for on man who thinks he has too much talent and wants to show him self playing individual.. Basketball is about Team play, Team work, and you have to think your move with just a fraction of a second before you do it, basketball is not about being good at slam dunks or things like this , if you like those things go play Street ball, most people would find those two the same ..BUT their not, played on the same type of ground, but different in rules and play style. From playing basketball you gain self control and most important you gain the respect of other for having the ambition to play this beutiful but hard game.

I had been a basketball player when I was in high school. And indeed playing such game gave me several learnings. Yes, teamwork is one thing I've learned also. BUt one thing that I could never ever forget is the RIGHT attitude. That's why our coach would always tells us. According to him, having a right and good attitude should begin with ourselves and it should be the basic. We should always have the attitude as a player and towards our competitors too. We have to follow the basketball rules also and focus to the game always. And I could say that it's really the best learning that I got in playing basketball. From that day on until now, it has been instilled in my mind. Though I commit several mistakes, i'm always reminded of what our coach had told us.

I dont know much about NBA and international basketball. though I love players like M Jordan, Shaq, Ivers, Bryant, Yao, FOx. The fact; I belong to India, a country oblivion of playing basketball. but there are people like me, for whom basketball is the most passionate hobby. Now, the answer to the prime topic about basketballs role in developing team spirit is, a straight yes. why basketball any sport infuses team spirit and sportsmen spirit, be it football, be it soccer or rugby. I force on the fact that I play basketball, in every interview I face, just to point out my team spirit and good ability to work in a group (I am a software engineer!) And then the answer to the question "whats the most valuable thing you gain from it" is, confidence. I'm just a 5.45 guy. My passion for basketball earns me recognition. its just the height that disallowed me to take it up at higher levels. thus the fact that I'm recognized as a basketball player in my institution in spite of my short height is a tremendous morale booster and a confidence provider for me.
