New and Recent Discussions

Hi. I was just wondering what the difference is between the two.

New discussions as the name implies are new or freshly posted. Whereas recent discussions are older than the new discussions or posted earlier than the new. There is really a difference between the two.

I think that the new discussions are those that are newly posted while recent discussions are those that are earlier posted than the new discussions. That's how I simply understand it.
