If you do then state your country here. Is it your first language? What can you say about the language?

I'm from the Phils. I don't speak the language but i really want to learn. sadly, it is not included in our school curriculum. i think it has been abolished sometime in the 80s. i do understand bits of it when i hear somebody speaking spanish because it is similar in many aspects to Tagalog and other Philippine dialects, pero no mi hablar.

It's good that you have the interest because once your interested it would go a long way. Take the advantage of our vernacular tongue there are lots of spanish volcabularies in there.

I speak as much Spanish as I learned in high school. In the US, Spanish is becoming a popular second language though, and many areas of the country have many Spanish speaking citizens. I would like to speak it better but second lanuages are not taught here until at least middle school in most areas, which is not great for second language acquisition

So you got a better situation there compare to what we have here in the Philippines since you still have the option to study. Here Spanish used to be taught in college during the 80's but it is already abolished by the government for no further reason. It is the national language of our country before 1900's then replaced by English. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
