Shane Warne bowled Andrew Strauss to capture an unprecedented 700th test wicket and then added Nos. 701-704 in quick succession to rub it in against England. After winning the toss and electing to bat in moist and overcast conditions Tuesday, England was bundled out for 159 on the opening day of the fourth test against Australia. Warne returned 5-39 from 17.2 overs - including 4-18 as England lost its last six wickets for 42 after tea - for his 37th five-wicket innings haul.

EXCUSE me, but wouln't it be more accurate to say ``the greatest bowler to disgrace the game of cricket''?Rob ParkerMaleny, QldBradman had dignity.

I was talking about his onfield career and not his off field activity.

This man has set an example of a class of bowling..and has proved himself before the world..When the fast bowling was the only option and no one thought of spin,at that time this man made a debute in the international cricket and never led this team down with his performance..He has sinlge handedly turned many games in their way.I wish him happy retired life...

I stayed up last night and watched it live. Although I am a grieving England fan and it was yet another difficult match to watch, Shane Warne deserved the applause and celebrations. He is a fantastic bowler, what an achievement. He was quite humble in his interview on sky sports. All I hope is that England can win one match so we can regain some dignity! I can but pray!!!

Yeah he is a true legend. Finest leg spinner this game has ever produced. I think australia is going to miss him for sure & he is someone who has created history so many times. I like the way australians play this sport. they leave the team generously. They never take their place for granted and this is true sportsman ship. They behave like champions in the field. and this type of confidence comes only when you have champions like shane in the team. The whole world is going to miss him!! Cheers, Tutul

a great player, a terrific performer with the ball, unpredictable batsman, great sense of cricketer, even though he is not so good in his personal life a very great cricketer to remember for centuries. According to me there is no such spinner in the world till day to beat his records or his performance. Australians once again proved they are mostly professionals in their field

Yes, congratulations to him for this great feat of achieving 700 test wickets. Eventhough he has a very controversial off the field life, on the field he is the best spinner in this modern era, even better than Muthiah Muralidharan, where he has the problem of chuking etc., and murali has more wickets against minnows than shane warne.
