Dear Friends, I just want to share some of my experiences which I had seen recently on the Highway roads, a bus run-over a biker and the biker remains dead on the spot. Even though the biker was waiting to take an u-turn by the side of the road, since the bus was out of control the biker was smashed. At last one young (26 years) friend I lost. Such incendents are happening more in India, bcoz in India there is no strict rules which restricts the biker to drive on highway roads. They just drive on the super highways where the normal vehicle speed is around 60-80 and when they meet with an accident they are dead on the spot. Everybody knows that driving bike on an highway road is very risky, but still as a fashion people drive on the high with great risk. Recently I have been to Korea on a official trip, even in Korea I found on normal roads bike driving is very risky and even the Car / Bus / Lorry drivers feel very difficult to manage when the bikers come in the middle. On Korea Super highway I have seen on the board that two wheeler and three wheelers are banned so the risk of life on the super highway is comparitively less when compared to India. But I don't know how about risk of bikers in your country, mylot users please give your suggestions.

You get a lot of similar situations in the United States because many states don't require bike riders to wear helmets.

U mean to say, bikers can ride on the super highway without helmets. Mygod then the accident rate of bike riders in US will be higher than other countries I think. Am I right.

I think it is a risk because if one driver have 200km/hour speed he can`t evite you. And you can die.

Yes, this is want is happening in the Indian highway road, coz biker can't manage high speed and Indian bikes are not made go at very high speed. Still ppl are driving very high speed with very high risk, how about in your country, whether bikers are allowed on super high ways. Please let me know.

bikers should be off-limits to highways! i think there ought to be bike lanes even on regular streets for the safety of the bikers, more especially nowadays that biking has become a healthy and eco-friendly alternative to car driving.

Yes, agreed not for bikers alone (a lane for all the two wheelers), as u said using bikes instead of cars reduces the traffic on the road, reduces pollution ( as u said) and at the same time there will be enough parking places. But the comfort matters, bikes has become fashion nowadays. Most of them use bike for occasional drives not as a regular one.

Well said, I have seen lot of bikers on highways, first of driving bikes on highways is a risk, apart from this they drive at a very high speed. They take life granted and never mind about the risk. Thanks for your post.
