When I was a child, I was often terrified of the night because I used to feel somebody come and sit on my bed. I would scream out and my mother would come in my room and there was nobody there. One day, I could swear there was something in my bedroom cupboard, I don't know what tempted me to do this, but I got out of bed and threw the door open - there was nothing there. All my fears stopped from that point onward. The mind in extremely powerful and there are records of people hallucinating. The way I see it is, that if the human mind can hallucinate in this way, ghosts are not be trusted. The mind can also link with other minds, I have proved this to myself many times. So the "ghost can be of somebody who is alive and trying to communicate to us. It's a shame when fear takes over and we lose the message though. :-)

Yes,there are good and bad spirits. The Spirit or Ghost the other person was talking about is the Holy Ghost. There is one spirit world, which has Angels and demons or as you called them good and bad spirits. Some people see them but I havent't personally.
