My littlest grand baby got scared and my son in law said the curved screen made him nauseous, so they wandered around in the Cosmosphere museum area. The sound and sight of that movie were awesome. Going down the train track in the mountains felt like a roller coaster. I would recommend this as a fun holiday activity.

"The Polor Express" is a wonderful Christmas book by Chris Van Allsburg. The artwork of the book has been amazingly transformed to film in Zemeckis' film. Many reviews have ridiculed either the quality of animation or the absurdity of the prolonged story. I think that this film did an admirable job at making a short picture book come to life in a wonderful tale on screen. I know that if I were a child again, this film would capture my heart. It nearly did that and I am an adult. I honestly think that children of all ages will enjoy this story as a wonderful Christmastime treat. There are so many small details that take the story telling in the film to a greater depth that is not possible in a book. It is a very good companion to the original book but in no way does it take its place. However, the film remarkably does not try to overshadow its source material like most book to screen transitions. At times the film gets lost in trying to create conflict to prolong the story, but it is worth going to see with family and friends if just to watch the beautiful animation come to life. The story's true essence is still present and it is filled with beautiful music

We LOVE the Polar Express. One of my favorite movies. It makes me feel like a kid again. Id like to find an IMAX theater around here that is showing it. How cool is that. We have the DVD and we have watched it about 20-30 times already between this year and last year. My kids and I just curl up on the couch with a big blanket, get the popcorn and drinks and just watch all cozied up. Thanks for the topic!

We saw that movie on television the other night and I can see how you could get sick from it. I personally don't think it's suitable for all ages because some of the characters in that movie were a bit scary.

The baby was scared of the train noise. My seven year old grandson owns the movie, he had a lot of fun. I am not a roller coaster fan, but my daughter is. Thanks for the response.

We've watched the polar express several times, either on dvd, or on t.v. We just love it. I once read the girls the book at school! Tom Hanks does a great job! Thanks for the Christmas tip. We weree going to go see Charlotte's web this christmas, but I was just too exhausted!

Well, if you are like us, you still have a school break to help fill. Maybe you can catch a movie when the "I'm bored" effect sets in. Happy New Year

Oh I had my first IMAX experience one month ago. I literally dragged my mom and bf to it - we saw some movie on dinosaurs and it ROCKED. The 3-d hall was something i swear everyone MUST experience. It was so unreal - My mom and bf loved it sooo much. My mom used to spread her hands to try and 'touch' the images in front. it was so cute.

Oh, that will be a great memory. I could see my mom doing that, too. I wish she were still alive. IMAX shows with water and swimming and sea life are neat. I used to drive youth group activities from my church and got to see several as a chaperone.
