In Asia Coconut Oil is very popular, it's not only used to fry but also as an alternative medicine for some illnesses. But i heard that American thinks coconut oil is not good to be consumed. I don't know for sure the reason. Why do they have different opinion?

I'm living in South India (Tamil Nadu) which is near to Kerala and people here used to keep coconut oil on their heads on a daily basis to reduce the body heat as well as the power of eyes will get improved. Is it correct to do so? As per my grandma's guidance I learnt this usage from my childhood.

well dude, you know Americans, they can eat anything raw, why do you have to listen to them. Coconut oil is very good for health. Ofcourse all Americans do not think that, my friend from America came to stay here in Pakistan and when he saw that here many people use this he took many bottles with him. His hairs were not very good as ours.

Yes I know coconut oil and am very happy with it. It became really popular here in the Philippines so I tried it out myself. I think Americans don't like it because they don't know a lot about it. I see it alot online though, quite pricey out there. I can buy 1 liter bottles for $6 here. I use it for my hair and scalp, sometimes on my face, on really dry body parts, I even drink a tablespoon each in the morning and night. I read that it lowers bad cholesterol and can help you lose weight. It also makes toilet habits regular. I used to get headaches as soon as I got in a mall and start walking, after drinking coconut oil it has stopped. Research more on this and it really has alot of benefits. Just that some people don't like the taste of the oil.

I have used coconut oil to substitute my usual haircream. It does work wonders with the scalp. My hair gets darker and thicker. On top of that, there is less dandruff. Best of all, it is cheaper and have no side effects.
