How many pets do you have?

What kind of pets, what are their names and do you have a favorite? I'll start. We have 14 critters right now. Four horses, Midnight my big black, blue and white Appy, Cass, my daughter's QH Cross, Kasha, our old Arab cross, Chester, a young minature horse, Cloe, the barn kitty, Whimpy, her son, four dogs, (starting house critters now) Magnum, a big black lab with terrible knees, Duncan, a Golden mix rescue, Fritz, our old man, he's a pommeranian, Pepper, my Papillion, he's dying of congestive heart failure, enlarged heart and he has a tumor, Taffy, the cat we inherited when my uncle died, Snowy another of Cloe's kittens, and Patches who we've had for a long time. Last, but not least, Cricket, our Cockatiel. I think I'd have to say Duncan is my favorite out of all of them. Taffy comes up to me more than the other cats so she would be my favorite of the housecats.

I've got you beat. I have thirteen cats and four dogs, plus one puppy. I have a hard time saying no.lol. I live in the country and I can't turn a stray away. I love animals. They are a lot of work but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Right now I have three pets... all cats. One was a stray that I saved, which had already been declawed and fixed, so it was obvious an owner had either moved on without her, or just lost her. The next one was a mixed tabby that we got at a pet store, because he was the runt of the litter, and just looked like he needed a good home. I thought he needed a playmate, so soon after I accepted a kitten from the neighbor who was set to give the whole litter to the local humane society. There names are Sassy (the older one), Nemo and Selena. They are basically part of the family, and have really interesting personalities when it comes to felines. Beyond that I don't have any other pets at the moment.

I think it's neat that you rescued some kitties and yes, they certainly do each have their own personalities.

Two cats - Russell and Tuxedo Joe - we rescued them from a shelter. 1 mouse - Mickey (I know real original) he started out a wild mouse who got in our house. We use the live traps and we would trap him and let him go. But we kept having and catching mice until one day we let him out and watched him head straight back to the house, climb the wall and go back into the attic. We couldn't leave him lose and didn't want to kill him, so next time we caught him, into our old "habitrail". He has lived with us more than 2 years now (still going strong) even though all the books say that his type of mouse only has a life expectancy of about 18 months. Of course, we have no idea how old he was when he adopted our house but we think we kept catching HIM repeatedly for about a two month period before we made it permanent.

It might be easier for me to count as I go. Lets see, my wife and I have 2 cats (one three legged), 4 dogs, 5 birds/parrots (1 ringneck parakeet, 1 amazon, 1 green-cheeked conure, 1 quaker, 1 budgie), a flight aviary with another 5 finches, 1 bearded dragon, 1 ball python, 1 ferret, 4 fish (2 aquariums), 2 leopard geckos. I think that is it. Sure seems like I am leaving one out, it's easy to lose track. So that is 25 as of right now. My wife is a Veterinarian, so some if not most of them are rescues. Wish I could post a whole bunch of photos, I have some good pictures. There are some in my profile, adding more as I go. Jim

Is your pet a dog or a cat? Usually cats are very good about going in a litter box if you show them where it is. Dogs are harder to train.

I currently have one pet. I have a dog named Eleanor Olivia Eudora Harper. The Eudora is after the writer Eudora Welty. Harper Lee who wrote To Kill a Mockingbird, and Olivia because that was what they named her at the animal shelter. She was a rescue.

We have 4 pets. My favorite is my pit-mation, Mooch...he is a cross breed with pit bull, and dalmation, and is a mild mannered brat-dog. he likes to sing out "i wuv uuuu". Our beagle, Grunt, he is our "mad-man". And our cats Bubbles, whose markings around her ears and tail look like bubbles. And last but not least, the other cat Whiplash...she inherited that name as a baby because she used to high-tail it around the corner, and end up slamming into a wall...my son says she will end up with whiplash that way, and so we just used it. LOL
