My daughter takes at least 20 mins to half hour in the shower. What is with this? I can't remeber spending this much time under the shower ever. My hot water bill is ridiculaous....

First of all, I want to thank you for some good discussions that I can answer. Back to your question...My boyfriends 14 year old son is the same way. He spends about 20-30 minutes in the bathroom in the morning. The only thing I can think of is maybe they are trying to make sure they are very clean and smell nice, maybe to impress someone. I can always tell when he has a girlfriend just by how long he spends in the shower.lol.

That could be it. She does do the hair and some makeup after the door is opened to reveal a steamy mess...

I'd be willing to bet that she might have a boy that she is interested in. But good luck getting that information.lol

We have a gas hot water system, which you can set to 'beep' after a certain amount of litres has passed through. We have ours set for 70 litres, and that is more than enough for my shower, and hubby's (separately of course). It is also good for the kid's bath as they can turn the tap on themselves (after I have set it) and then turn the tap off after it beeps. Get one of these, and tell your daughter that it will turn itself off after the amount of water has passed through. Watch how quick she is then ha ha.

What a wonderful idea!! When we build or buy our own house (hopefully next year) we might look into that.

Well missy I had exactly the opposite, my daughter was the one to get in the bathroom and be out before you knew it, BUT, my son, well that was different altogether. And sometimes I would have to bang on the door to tell him to hurry up and as it was a gas hot water service and the next one would get an almost cold shower, and guess who that was? lol Sounds pretty normal!

I think spending a long time in the shower is relaxing alone time. Time to think about things with no one around.
