I think mylot is an easy way, but I've had a lot of people I made friends with just disappear. The easiest way I've found to meet people was by being a seller on ebay. I made tons of friends who sent me homemade cards and e-mailed me regularly.That's been several years ago, and I still e-mail with some of them.

Well i think when you are chatting or joining the forum it is easy to make friends with the people there cos you can say hi/hello there and if nobody answer then thats alright, if they reply to you then much better, you can start conversation easily but when you are right infront of a certain person you are more hesitant to make friends cos its like a slap in your face when you say hello and then they turn their back on you and you'll look strange to them, ouch that hurts.

Church functions are always a good place to meet people. Most churches have funtions for their single pirishners.

I think anywhere you go. Where there are people there is an opportunity to meet. Also, seeing what interests you share can help. It could be on the bus and noticing what someone is reading, at Starbucks in line ordering the same coffee as you. To me there are endless opportunities. One way I have met people is when I travel. I am single and like to go on Globus tours. There are usually a couple of single people who are there and we hang out. I am still in touch with these people.

the easiest way for me is in a chat room. to meet me in person I am shy at first till you get to know me then I open up. Mylot is easy to meet people though but not as easy as a chat room

Well, it all depends of the person. If you're a shy person, trying to make friends, it might be easier on the net, in chat rooms or even in forums like MY Lot. But for someone who isn't shy, then i think the social scene is best. If you're trying to meet a potential soul mate, then the interent is fine, considering you get to know the person before you see them, therefor, cannot judge them by their looks.

Well, over the years it has been much harder for me to meet new people at all, it was usually because I knew them from work. But because I have major trust issues, it has become easier to meet people over the internet--basically here at Mylot--than anywhere else. For the simple reason is that if they make me angry or we just loose contact, it doesn't affect me as bad as being face to face does. It may sound a little "funky" or bad on my part, but it is just easier for me this way. Besides, it gives me a chance to be myself and not have to worry about offending anyone or caring what they think of me. It just sucks when I do meet someone really cool because they usually don't live near me so I can't just call them up and go out and have fun with them.

I am actually very shy, so i find it easier to talk ect on places like mylot and pogo, and several of the forums I visit.
