how will you know if a mylot user is online?

i just want to know how will i able to see if one of my frined or any member is oneline. i only depend on the time of there discussion posted or by the time of there response in a discussion.
i think if am aware that one of my fried or other member are online we can estaliblished a more long and good discussion.
how will i know if someone is online or offline?
