Would you want your young son or daughter to go into a career that has so much fame and fortune at such a young age and what kind of life it brings?

I was married to a very successful musician. He was a child prodigy, at 4 years old he was playing the piano then studied at the conservatorium in Wiesbaden, Germany. He studied classical music, including percussion, went on to become the bandleader of a successful show band in Europe. We traveled all over Europe and Scandinavia. So I can honestly say it was a wonderful life.

He now has his own nightclub and sits-in with various groups as a guest. He even has a web site here in the States, his parents were not musicians but they were music lovers and supported his choice. He did not teach but my best friend's husband was a sax player and he is now teaching after giving up the life of travel.

It sounds like the music has given you guys the dream life. Has he taught music? Has he been able to encourage others with his music? Were his parents musicians?

I know how much you love your kids but i also know you would support their dreams. I think our children are more capable than we want to admit. my kids are at the age of following their own dreams and not mine, it;s hard to take but i'll survive. Letting those strings loose is painful in a lot ways.

Well shouldn't be a problem if the child has a level head going into the business. Not all kids that go in end up like some of the crazy out there now days.

I guess as a parent I would be terrified of my child being taken advantage of but if this was their dream them i would have to support it all the way.
