Do any of you guys download files and if so how? I mean do you download them from p2p, torrents, forums, usenet (newsgroups) etc... At the moment i use usenet (newsgroup) with a provider called News Demon. usenet is fastest method of file sharing on the net at the moment and i have tried all methods and it is the fastest. Now to hear from you guys?

yes i still have bearshare, newsgroups or usenet whatever you want to call it is lot faster then bearshare (p2p) as it is person 2 person where as usenet is straight of servers around the world with no speed caps (usenet maxes out you connection)

I like to download movies and music via p2p. I have cable modem, so it is pretty fast to get the files. I mostly use LimeWire, but I have used other programs in the past. Usually they get shut down and then I have to find a new one. I don't know how to use newsgroups to download.

I often find that problem, too. Especially with movies and rare songs. Also, I find that many times I download a movie only to find that it is something completely different that what the file name said!! That really annoys me.

yeah that use to get very annoying with p2ps. I used to download movies and they were just a advert for a online shop and i download Doom and it was a different film what i had never heard of

I use a bit torrent client called Azureus. It's not as fast as direct downloading on usenet, but there is a lot more available on the distributed file sharing networks. It's not unusual to get a 700 MB AVI movie overnight.

they start off with same files but usenet get rid of some after there retention (70+ days with mine) but torrent as them on longer (but older they get less seeds they get) just a example you can get a 700mb movie in 10 - 15 minutes on usenet
