I would agree that a truckdriver must be skilled, but only usually at the start and end of their run. Those things must be very difficult to manouvre in smaller spaces, but aren't very hard to drive on the open roads. I wouldn't agree that it's very masculine though, sinc ewomen are equally capable of doing this job. The most masculine jobs are those that require brute strength and bravery, and anything else women are not stupid enough to do! I agree with some of those mentioned above, like oil-rig workers, miners etc. Soldiers are also very masculine, women can be soldiers, but cannot equal men in combat (again, maybe they're too clever to do it!!) I've seen a number of demolition workers who are women, but that's because much demolition today uses explosives. so it's more a science than a rough job.

It amazes me that anyone can drive those things too. I have enough trouble with a car. lol Here in the U.S. there are quite a few female truck drivers as well as firemen, police, etc., so I don't know if I could label any of them masculine anymore.

I hate having to disagree with a pretty girl lol To my mind there is no comparison between a truck driver (18 wheeler) and a fireman. Those big rigs are so full of technology nowadays that they are almost easier to drive than your car. You want masculine? Stick with your fireman, even though there are some fine serving ladies in there too!! Did you not notice that most of the big rigs are being driven by little guys? And yes, women too! Maybe your boyfriend is a wonderman, but a career of sitting in a truck, is a good way to get fat lol In some parts of the world it is also a risk of getting AIDS! It is not a guarantee of masculinity.

I am sure I know more truck drivers than you, because I work in transportation. They are the much more honest than other men. They hurries home to their wifes, and girlfriend. It is not a carreer for them, but a way to earn a lot of money to help their family. To be masculine doesn't mean the body for me. And you did not say your opinion about the question.

This is so difficult. :) To separate a job for masculine/feminine. What jobs are females less able to do? Well not many. Demolition work, is usually too physical for the ladies. Perhaps mining, and sewerage construction. Working the oil rigs is a very masculine job. Lots of heavy nasty jobs. Perhaps men and women are not as different as they used to be.
