I am just really thin....so thin that I look malnourished. And its not that I don't eat or don't have enough to eat....I eat quite a lot more than average....at least Thats what my friends say..(Those jerks actually gave me the title of Jughead Jones on our Christmas party - as I eat a lot but don't get any fatter) And its not that I don't exercise or anything... And since I'm a boy it just look weird being so thin....and it gets irritating people making fun of u.....like a strong wind will come and I'll get blown off. DOES anyone else face this problem? Anyone knows any remedies? Any kind of suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!

Weight gain is something that isn't easy to do and you probably know this already. I know first hand because it is something I have to do every day. I am an ectomorph by genetics, which is the "skinny body type" and the one with the fast metabolism which makes gaining so hard for guys like me. The key to weight gain is to do everything BIG. You have to eat big, to lift big, to get big. Say that over and over again in your head until you fully understand it. A lot of people think weightlifting is the key to gaining weight, and I won't argue, it is an extremely important part. BUT, there is another thing that is just as important when it comes to how to gain weight, and that is your diet. So, to put it as simply as possible, there are 5 simple steps to how to gain weight, and here they are: 1) Count how many calories you eat in a normal day. Don't change anything, just eat like you normally would and count how many calories you consumed. This is an extremely important step, so try to be as exact as possible. Also, weigh yourself. 2) Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories MORE then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would now eat 2500 calories a day. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5-6 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. To get big, you have to eat big! Remember that. 3) Weightlifting! Get in the gym and lift! This is another important step to how to gain weight, so make sure you are doing it correctly. For more information on weightlifting workout routines and splits, read the workout routines and splits section. 4) At the end of that week, weigh yourself. You'll notice you're gaining just after one week! Now, don't expect to see a 10lb increase. Gaining anymore then 1 or 2 pounds a week is unhealthy and means you're putting on way to much fat. So look for 1 or 2 pound gains at the end of the week. Don't sound like much? You can be gaining 5-8 pounds a month! 5) Heres an important one. At some point, you will stop seeing weight gain. At this point, you will have to eat even more. So, when you stop gaining for at least 2 weeks, it means it is time to start eating an extra 250 calories a day. Every time you see you haven't gained weight for at least 2 weeks, add an extra 250 calories

Being skiny is not at all a problem,very soon may be in 4/5 years you may gain weight and you will be fine.Ina way, it is a blessing to be thin in the world which is full of fat and overweight people.the thin people remain healthy for very long time and have great resistance to all sicknesses.

Hi halloween02 do not worry to much,but after reading all the answers so far,non have asked if you smoke?.do you? when I was growing up,I started smoking when I was very young,and as I get into my teens,I weighed 150 lbs,I stayed at this weight till I quit smoking in my 40's,as soon as I quit,I shot up to my present weight of 232 lbs,which is the right weight for my heighth. I used to be called weasel as I was so thin,I could slip between fence rails where no one else could. I was also blamed for closing down an all-you-can-eat buffet,so I would just keep eating hamburgers and fries and such,keep your health up and enjoy life.

You are not alone on this world with this problem. I'm too thin. How many times I heard that when I'm standing I look like a tree ? Well, I think it's all because of the gens you got. I too eat a lot of all.....and it's still the same. You must life with it like I :/ And what's s*** at me is that all this fat is saving up into my face :@

I have the same problem as you! Although, I am a female, so I think it is a little more accepted to be so thin. Most of my friends, though, are average to overweight and they always make comments to me, too. Sometimes it is hurtful because I would never just walk up to them and say hey you are looking so fat today. But they think it's okay to make comments on how skinny I am. Maybe you should just tell them that it makes you mad when they say things like that to you because you can't change how you are. You should be happy with yourself no matter what!

i have been embarresed, humiliated n what not by this problem....exactly as mentioned above i too eat a lot of food but still i am very very thin, i have been called by many names like Bag of Bones, Hanger , n many many names .......i just wanna get some flesh on my body, i have done many many things but it doesnt help me i dont know why i am like thiz .......i fell really embarresed when in a group, bcoz i wil always become the target n made fun of, ...i just cant take it anymore.....but thiz iz what life is...

Kudos to you Halloween because we are on the same boat except that I'm a female and i'm older than you.I should eat more rice.That is what my friends keep telling me so I could get a little fatter to reach my ideal weight.

For me you are so lucky being thin, dont you know that lots of people take diet pills, make huge exercise to get thin and im guilty with that.hehehe But take some vitamins to increase your weight, just consult a doctor for the right one.

Thats true , I do have a friend who envies me a lot. She barely eats yet she gets bloated up !! Consult a doc yea rite.....My dads a doc.. hes a peadratic surgeon ... anyways when some people who used to come to him asking for some tonic or some medicen for their kids as they are 2 skinny he used to write down his home address nd tell them to go see me... As if he cant make his own kid fat how will he make others !!

i was once thin but now im quite k by god's grace.there are many things you can do.if you are born prematured.give yourself some time.don't expect one night change in yourself.i must suggest you these. 1.take proteins a lot.mainly egge milk and chicken. 2.sleep atleast 10 hours daily and i suggest you sleep an hour after lunch. 3.take vitamin b complex.also take spirulina. 4.exercise daily.start with free hand then after one month do with some light weights,and go increasing weights with time. 5.reach a age of 21 and even if then you are skinny then consult a doctor.i must say as long as you get energy you dont worry about weight.it depends on how healthy your parents are too.you may be in your growing period and you are bound to be thin. all the best.

try to take good vitamins and have plenty of sleep maybe you don't have a good sleeping pattern. also eat sweets and don't dig too much on salty foods. i was thin before but now i'm alittle bit chubbny. i eat a lot too and chew my food well.

we do have the opposite situation. i am a chubby girl and my friends also tease me like this year is my year. (pig)huhu. it is really hard for me to lose weight. :(

Considering you are from asia, that is why they think you are chubby. Asian people think you have to be like a rail to be normal. Super-skinny is like pretty to them. I think it is stupid. I am here to tell you, if your avatar is you, you are not even chubby looking. I am considerd big for an asian girl, and I don't think I am that bad. It irritates me that they think this way. Nobody wants a walking stick. I think you are fine how you are.

I can't think of anything to help you, except that you have a seriously high metabolism. I have a simliar metabolism like yours, but I dont look malnourished, and I do eat a lot. If you ask me I think you should just live it up. You can eat anything you want, and not gain any pounds. So yeh just live it up, it won't last forever.

join a gym...they have weight gain programs...and u could go in for some weight lifting...that helps u to put on some muscle which is healthy weight...and try havin a glass of milk and a banana in the morning...

I am also skinny... I suggest your follow them... Dont skip meal, drink vitamins, exercise and think positive..

you might just have a fast metabolism. when i was in high school, no matter if i eat buckets and barrels of food, i dont get fat at all. i was even underweight. and i had health problems. i took vitamins, and i think that improved my health condition a lot. try to eat fruits.. vegetables and im sure you'll definitely see some positive changes.

There is nothing to worry my friend.There are many such peoples who eat a lot more than an average person yet he is too thin compared to an average person.There is nothing harm in being thin when you have the capacity to eat so much.It can be a major concern when someone can't eat or doesn't eat a normal diet.It is better to be thin than fat..

my hubby is the same way he is 5"9 an very skinny.the dr. told him he is burning more calories than what he is taken in.try eating high calories food.there is something called weight gainer you can buy at health stores like GNC.its a power you mix with milk drink its very high in calories an also eat high fiber foods.good luck to you hope this helps

I am also skinny.As u wrote I also eat more but I am skinny only.I think somebody types are like this only.My father and mother were also skinny.But now they are fat.I think age also makes difference.So don't worry.Feel good and stop worrying.Be confident that is most required.
