This a new Linux OS I've never heard of it where did you find it. Yes I have had several attacks I use Avast also and it does slow down your PC as a side bar it will help your PC if you will clean out your temporary files. P.S. do a search for "easy cleaner" it is freeware and great for many uses.

I was infected by the Seek 99 adware virus and I wasn't able to get on line or anything. I had to go to www.geekstogo.com and download hijackthis and in between doing all of that, I kept getting booted off. It was a nightmare. I then installed Service Pak 2 for Windows XP and I did what the guy at geeks to go told me to do and after 4 days it was gone. Thank goodness, that virus was a nightmare.

yes i have been affected by viruses, i didn't had any antivirus that time, and hence i had to format my pc and install the windows again, but after doing that, i have just made an image of my hard disk just after the installation, and hence if next time it gets affected again and there's no option left except formatting the pc, then i don't have to install the windows again, i just have to load the image again which just takes 15 mins and you are ready with your pc again

I have encountered the virus problem several times. It comes through email attachments or even through 31/2 inch floppy diskettes. Use the best antivirus software like Solomon's Antivirus to prevent them.
