I remember when I was pregnant for my youngest (I better remember, he is only 2!) I swear I could smell dairy queen vanilla ice cream cones!! and it would make me crave them so bad.. I dont even ever remember being able to smell a ice cream cone before but I could smell Dairy Queen, Vanilla Ice Cream Cones constantly! it was weired.. but sooo gooooood! lol with my first 2 I loved augraten potatoes (the kind in the box)...and also with my 2nd son, besides the potatoes I craved ice cubes... My mom craved the smell of laundry detergent... what did u crave when u were pregnant? or if u are pregnant what do u crave?

I ate half a watermelon everyday til the day before I gave birth to my eldest. I also craved tomatoes. There was even a time when I craved tomatoes at midnight and cried because no stores were open and none could be found in the house. We waited til the markets opened at dawn and went and bought a whole bagfull that I ate raw while watching TV. :)

I craved cheese and lettuce! They are both things that i do not usually eat alot of so i suppose my body craved the nutrients in them. To anyone out there who is pregnant - be careful with eating to much dairy when you are pregnant because i ate so much and my doctor told me that it is the reason that my daughter is lactose intolerant. OOOhhhh! I remember those days. All I wanted was Ambrosia Salad, Sushi and Mountain Dew. Even when I was in labour with my son I was delerious about Mountain Dew. I thought that if I complained enough about being thirsty, they would let my husband get me a Mountain Dew Slurpie. But sadly all the nurse did was turn up my IV. The very strange thing about my cravings is that I seem to have passed them on to my son. He loves Ambrosia Salad, sushi and mountain dew. What's that all about?1?

I really had some weird cravings! With my daughter I craved mangos soooo bad,and had never eaten them before. So I bought one and took a bite and nearly got sick! I had never liked peanut butter much but eat it almost every day, and still have a PB&J 3-4 times a week. I could Not drink Pepsi any more because they made me sick. I switched to Diet Caffene free Mt. Dew and still drink it today only nnot caffene free. I also craved a Harley. Not to eat, but to ride on. I would hear one, or see one and I would have this STRONG desire to get on it and go. It was so weird! Even my Dr. said she had never heard of such a thing. With my son I had to have a Resee cup and Pepsi everyday and I craved my mom's spegettii. But was not near her to get any for about 2 months. LOVE the topic!

When I was pregnant with my first child, I remember craving a peanut butter and jelly with black olives on it one night while laying in bed. I wanted this sandwhich so badly that I could taste it. I didn't have any olives that night so I had to seattle for just the usual peanut butter and jelly on wheat. But I know if I had a can of olives I would have made a triple decker olive peanut butter and jelly sandwhich hmm. I wanted that sandwhich so badly that in all honesty I'm tempted to get some olives to see how it would have tasted.

Jennifer your post made me laugh because I remember, with my first pregnancy, that I never craved a thing... until one night when, out of the blue, I begged my husband get dressed and go out and get me a DQ Blizzard. I was frantic that he wasn't going to get there before the place closed LOL So, amen on the DQ vanilla ice cream! ;)

i cant reply to this first hand as im a 17 year old lad, however i remember a conversation i had with my mum the other day specifically about this. my mum is a skinny women and rarely eats but however is exremly healthy...the one craving she had through pregnancy was chocolate eclairs! she sent my dad out on erands nearly every day to buy one for her, the strange thing is now she never eats them, and wont touch fresh cream with a large poking stick.. but that was all she ate during pregnancy, i dont understand it myself , i guess its just another unravelled mystery of women that we are yet to understand...
