America's world view

Is it really as bad as the media in Britain make out? Does America see the UK as it's long lost state? The USA has a hard time in the foreign press and sometimes (just sometimes!) it seems a little unfounded. Could it be other countries insecurity or does America really see itself as superior and the leading light in western politics?

We definately don't think of the UK as a long lost state. If anything, we have always been kind of wary of anti-American superiority that European states feel to such a young country that has such a different social view. We obviously feel very glad for the countries in Europe that are our friends and will back us up if anything gets really serious.

nice to here a view from your side. It's easy to forget how young a country USA is. Good thing is you can learn from all our mistakes!
