Ok. So my husband is a little older than me. What is the big deal? I am tired of the looks. People are so rude. I am 29 years old and he is nearly 45. We have been married 9 wonderful years and have a devilish little 7 year old boy. It works for us. Why do people have to stare? I just don't get it.

I saw a discussion from someone on Mylot who saws she is 18 and her husband is 35 years older than her, so she's got you beat. ;-) And of course there are always Woody Allen and the late Tony Randall!

it is because some people cant believe that couples who have a big gap in their age will work out. so when they see one its a mix of question that create in their mind. One is the doubt. They actually based it physically. If you look younger and your husband is look older than 45 then thats why people stare because they couldnt believe it. So dont mind them just ignore it. Just think they are just envy your both happy.

They arent staring, they're leering. I have the same problem in reverse. I am 16 years older than my husband. Many ask me how "my son" is or am I waiting for my son? We've been married 8 years and our friends still cant get used to us being together. Jealous? Maybe.

If you look young, or younger than you are, that could be it. I had an oldr boyfriend, close to the age diff. you have, and never really had a problem with...at least with people staring lol (of course, we're both tall and scary, so I wouldn't look either). Who knows, maybe they think you're a good-looking couple lol. I wouldn't worry about it, honestly, as long as you're happy.
