Can mood swings be connected to the moon phases?

Today 3rd - 4th January 2007 is the first Full Moon of the year 2007 - the Wolf Moon as it is otherwise known. As a result moods and emotions will be tense and anxious with the possibility of aggressive and volatile behaviour. Dreams may also be extremely vivid or disturbing. Some people can not sleep at full moon. What is your full moon mood?

My mood will be blue if it were a "Blue Moon". What is a Blue Moon? There are in fact two definitions for a blue moon. According to the more recent definition, a blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. For a blue moon to occur, the first of the full moons must appear at or near the beginning of the month so that the second will fall within the same month (the average span between two moons is 29.5 days). June 2007 will have two full moons: the first on June 1, the second on June 30—that second full moon is called the blue moon.

I never thought a "full moon" would have any effect on a person until I worked in a Nursing Home and you could always judge a full moon on afternoon shift as the patients would all act weird, ie. climbing out of bed, some more aggresive than usual etc. so since then I feel there is some relation to the fact of what happens when there is a full moon.

i didn't had any wird experience during the full moon days.but i studied that it will certainly have some effect on mentally imbalanced persons. They used to behave wild.further not only in living things but also we can see its effect in Waves.usually there will be increase in the height of the waves. Most of the Tsunami dates also coincide with the full moon day.

I love a full moon. But since reading your post, it got me to thinking, I have been moody today and yestuday, I attributed it to what is going on in my life right now. My mom woked in a hospital for years, she said they all dreaded a full moon, it would get nutty at the hospital.

Full moon tends to make me tired as I find it hard to sleep. Many years working in public contact industries has also affirmed my belief that 'lunatic' and 'lunar' are very closely related. Odd behaviour certainly increases around the full moon.

Unfortunately, the moon doesn't affect my mood at all. Maybe those people really believe the moon affects them and the result is true because they're programming their brain to think that way.

Well full moon affects so many things in our world that it is highly possible that it affects also our mood. People from centuries saw the changes moon is causing on the nature and humans. It is higly possible then at certain moon phases people behave in a certain way but i never heard of any particular research about it :)

I never pay attention to moon cycle, but if I remember correctly, whenever it's new moon something always switches. It's like whatever I am dealing with, will be replaced with something else. Sometimes it's my period and I would be ill tempered.
