How do you respond to email forwards?

I get email forwards all the time. One friend in particular thinks she has to send me everything. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes, NOT! I almost never send a response to the email/picture etc. How do you handle email forwards? if you have several friends who all like to forward stuff to you, you end up speding a lot of email time deleting these things.

I like recieving mails, luckily I don't have friends who bombard my mailbox with mails. Most of the time its useful informative mails or ones with special messages. I read them and only if its worth sharing I forward them.

That is all we really can do. I would feel rude telling my friend not to send me any more junk lol. Thanks for your comments.

Once in a while I will comment on it in my next email to that person. Just so they feel good, I guess. Thanks for commenting.

most of the forwards come to my friends groups. so, i just read them and do not forward them. some type of forwards, i know who all will like to receive such mails. so, i send it only to them and do not spam others' mail boxes.

I think I do the same. I just wish there were not so many useless ones. Thanks for your comments.

ya the same hold for me too.i receive several forwarded mails from my friends.sometimes its irritating, some are funny, some donot make any sense while some a very good.i usually keep the good ones, delete the irritating ones and forward the mails to those who might appreciate them.i don't really like spamming.if i find any unwanted e-mails in my inbox i simply report them as spam.thats it.i never get them from the same user again.i report spam only those emails that come from unrecognized sender.and one thing i never respond to forwarded mails.why respond for something for which the sender has not even used his keyboard?

There is one of my firend sending me a lot of forward email mostly with something made in powerpoint. I red them all and I kinda like receving it. But I don't forward them back a lot. Only the one that I really find funny or cute. I think I only send back about 1/4 of wjat I receive

I receive many emails each day, it just takes time to sort through stuff and you're always thinking the one you do not open is the one in which you will miss something important. Thanks for joining in the discussion.

I do too, but I open them if I feel like it, and delete what I don't have time to read aft er a couple weeks and I haven't gotten around to it. Some people send more than others. Some send more useless ones that others. I know each person and the quality of what they send. I would open every forward from Q because she is selective but not from G for that reason - because she appears to send everything that crosses her path... I am sure I have missed something really neat but I will have to just accept that. If a forward says to forward it to X number of people and then send it back to them, I do not forward it or send it. It doesn't mean anything bad will happen, either. Ha ha. I use a different email address for people who send forwards because people who forward don't always BLIND CARBON COPY (bcc) and if my address is visible, mark my words, 1 or 2 days later, the spam starts arriving in a totally clean account of mine that had never gotten spam. Spammers love forwards with lots of email addresses in them - I bet that is why they were started in the first place. I treasure that my friends think of me. Occasionally I respond to thank someone for the cheer or laughter they brought to my day. If it didn't, or I didn't read it, I don't respond to it. I was thinking of making a filter that diverted everything marked FWD in the subject line to a special folder, so as to not take up room on my first page of my inbox. I don't send forwards unless they are GOOD, and I mean, really good, and sometimes I don't even send the good ones on. Because most people have too much mail.

Just so you know, this would have received the 'best response' designation! Thanks for your response, sounds like you handle them the same way I do:)

I have an aunt that does this all the time, plus a few that occasionally do also. I do not mind them as I feel that they did at least think of me. I hardly ever forward any unless they are really good or make me want to share them. I do not ask her to stop as I can just delete them and they cause no harm. She seems to like this, and I have actually gotten a couple of really good ones that were not just 'chain letters' i hate those.

I probably won't say anything to my friend either, no harm anyway. Plus recently she started her online degree course so that is taking up a lot of her internet time. I should have a break at least for a while. Thanks for commenting.

I do not respond to email forwards. I have no idea if my friends or relatives sent them. I did get a whole lot and my sister-in-law who sends me funny emails, did not indicate that she originated them, so I deleted them. I hate forwarding stuff, I would never do it, and I do not like people to forward me stuff. That is how I get a lot of my junk mail, someone thinks that maybe I would be interested. Well no matter what it is, the forward mail may contain a virus and that is one reason why I do not like it.
