Whatever happened to nap time? Would you rather a long break or go home earlier?

I'm sitting here at 2 pm, sleepy, as usual! I only have 3 hours left of work but it feels like forever. I'm drained from all the work I did this morning... So I was wondering, whatever happened to nap time? In kindergarten you get a mid-day nap to refresh and re-energize. Why did they take that away once we get older? It seems we could use it more now than ever! I've heard some countries still have a 2 hour break or "siesta", but that definitely doesn't happen here. Right now I work 8:30-5 and imagine that with a longer break I'd be here til 6 instead. Would you want a 2 hour break if you company offered it? or would you prefer to leave at your usual time instead? I definitely would be more refreshed if I had a nap time, but I might be annoyed having to stay til 6 everyday. I think I would prefer leaving early!! What are your thoughts?

I would prefer to leave the same time and not take a nap. I only take naps when my body requires them. Hormones, illness, or excessive stress will bring on the need for a nappy. There is nothing like a nap to take off the edge.

There are a lot of times around 2 or 3 where I feel I need a break! My coworkers and I will take 5 minutes to get a drink in the cafeteria, but it's usually not enough. HOWEVER, once I go home I'm suddenly wide awake! Second wind :) Then again around 11 at night, I could easily stay up til 2 most nights. So really, I decided I don't need a NAP, but isntead I need a break from the same ol same ol every so often. This would explain why I'm more motivated in the morning at work than after lunch.

If I could skip lunch, and just go home early, I would do it every single day. Normally the 1 hour break is too much for me, and I always feel like I am wasting my time...so... I would MUCH rather just work through lunch, snack on something small, and get out the door quicker at night.

Well for me the one hour flies by as I start playing online, taking my time eating, and chatting with coworkers :) Actually when I did used to work through lunch (I'd eat while I worked) at my old job, I didn't miss lunch so much. Now-a-days I think it is Lunch itself that wears me out b/c once I eat and start doing personal things, I think about how I'd rather be at home playing on mylot! But since skipping lunch is not an option at this job, I gotta deal with it and that means, I still feel the need for a mid-day nap! Even 15 minutes would be nice.
