of course science is necessary. although you may not use it in your everyday life, it is still important to understand how the world around you works. knowledge is important otherwise you would just be a gullible fool. If you never studied science I could tell you that a horse drawn carriage pulls the sun through the sky and apples fall from trees because invisible giants knock them down, and you would never know the difference. plus, even though you may not use the science specifically, you will still need to make decisions based on your knowledge of it, like whether or not your doctor is good, or if you should be for or against stem-cell research. You may not enjoy learning it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
