are our kids given enough protection over paedophiles?

hello my mylot friends. the law in england drives me sick, i'm not sure if it's the same over in america and other countries, but i just dont think we are given enough protection over paedophiles. we dont know where they live, we dont know who they are most of the time, and as a father of two children i just dont think the goverment is protecting our children. i was reading the paper and their was this story that the police actually housed a convicted paedophile right next to a nursery, parents were complaining to the goverment, but the goverment say they cant do nothing, the goverment did'nt even tell the parents that a convicted paedophile was living near a school. i just think that paedophiles are being protected more than our children, why? it's the children who are the victims. please can you give me your opinion, do you think our children are protected enough by the goverment? because i certainly dont.

I don't think there is ever going to be engoush protection from those low lives. I think they know how to work the system better than anyone else. It's sad that they can get away with their sick crimes, and we're left to wonder if there will ever be enough protection. I think they should lock them up and throw away the keys, because pedophiles never deserve to get out. They can never be reformed.

As people have said already, there is never going to be protection against such things, no matter how many lists you have of paedophiles. I value integrity, by the way, and I just don't think those lists or records are going to make any difference. Your kid is just as likely to get into trouble with any odd guy, not just the already convicted paedophiles. The only way, I think, is to talk to your own children and explain everything, not just to keep away from mr Harris who lives on corner.

we have website here too but the problem is these so and sos need to be caught before they are on their. My ex only got 16 months in remand for his dispicable act and now wants access unsupervised to my two daughters. Even as a mother I am not allowed to show documented proof of his offense to schools my children attend to warn them of his crime

That is terrible, in the US, you can look them up online and see exactly where they live and what their crime was, I really can't belive they don't have this there, maybe some of the parents there should get together and complain about it and then they would starte a site or something.

i think in the first place that whenever they arrest a paedophile, they must punnish them with chemical castration! i know that it exist, so why not use that! so they will never ever touch a child again! and always beware because most of the times it is a close friend, neighbour or even a familymember! you can't see it in their eyes,we can only catch them if the child talks about it! that is what i am going to learn my daughters as soon as they understand that they talks to me when someting strange happens to them! i hate these persons, using kids!!!!!!!!

I certainly do not think enough is done to protect our kids. But what really pisses me off is that the majority of paedophiles are not just the mad person who kidnaps kids off the streets. The majority of these monsters are either family members, people who will first groom a child by befriending their family or people in postions that look after children. I feel the government and the NSPCC should do more. I think they should be going into schools and teaching children about how to protect themselves and know the signs if a paedophile starts to get the child to keep secrets or threaten them. I have written to the NSPCC myself and have asked why they do not do this. Unfortunately I have never had a reply. We need to empower our children and teach them to be aware of anyone who makes them feel uncomfortable. This is the only way we as parents are going to protect our children. We cannot wait for the government to help. There are too many bloody do gooders who feel paedophiles have rights too. I feel their rights have gone once they decide to abuse a defenseless child.

problem is what do you do with them when they are released, if you tell the public that a paedophile is living in the area then there is just a protest and they have to move them. There aren't any places in the country where there are no children so keeping all paedophiles away from children is pretty difficult. Its a problem area with no real answers other than just leaving them in prison for the rest of their lives

I dont think our children are protected enough well at least here in Canada. My step daughter was a victim of her last step dads. All he recieved was 6 months in jail. Shortly after getting out we got a call from the police asking if we seen him because he was on the run for doing sick act to 2 other kids. Just for information purposes this sick freaks name is JERRY DEMPSEY who use to reside in Campbellford in Ontario in Canada!

You must make your children aware of paedophiles and what they can do. An unpleasent task, I know, but essential in this day and age. No law in the world will protect your child from paedophiles who have not been caught and registered before. Personally, once caught and convicted, paedophiles should just be put down like sick dogs. They will never change.

Knowing that paedophiles are habitual recidivists and have seen many news reports and confessions on TV confirming this; I believe there is no case for releasing a convicted paedophile back into the community. It's as simple as that. I want kids protected.

yes you are right we are not given enough protection again paedophiles, yes I have found that a paedophile was living in government housing where many other children live and across the road that is where the infant and primary school is located so I do not believe that the government is protecting people against this especially where there are many young children.

I do not believe that our children are being given enough protection from paedophiles. There is a website here that can tell you where the paedophiles live in relation to you and your family but that is all that can be done. You may want to see if that is available there and find a place to live that no offenders live in. More needs to be done to protect the children whether they are at home or at school. All we can do now is make sure we do not leave our children alone or unattended.
