Do you hug a friend when greeting them?

When I meet a friend out in public, I always give them a hug. The hugs I receive back vary. There is the side hug, where you touch shoulder to shoulder. There is the hug where you wrap both arms around each other and squeeze tight. There is the burping hug, that is the hug that someone gives you and pats you on the back. Whatever type of hug you give or receive, it is a good hug. Give a friend a hug today. Don't forget your family members too!

It depends on how well I know the person if i hug them or not. An old co worker, sure, I'll hug. My old boss--heck no, he just gets spit on. LOL If they seem a little stand offish, I won't hug them.

I am a hugger. I believe that people need more one-on-one contact. I am with you on the former boss though.

I always hug my friends, no matter where we are. If I don't know them well, I won't. The only family I have is my husband and kitties, and they all get a lot of huggies.

I like to give hugs, too. I think everyone needs a hug. I used to work with high school special needs, and some people told me I shouldn't do that because I might get in legal trouble. But, I kept right on doing it and never had a problem. I had kids coming in between classes just to get hugs.

here in the philippines, only girls do the huggin' stuff., for us, it's naturally awkward to see man huggin' each other., but some do so., men oftenly shakehands to each other., maybe that depends on the culture you get to use to.,

Yes, i like to always hug my friends when we meet up, I think it shows we are pleased to see each other. Thinking about it I always hug my family when we say goodbye and give them a kiss on their cheek.

ya hugging is a very common thing in india, many people hug in their own way but it clearly shows their interest in you,for example if one pats you on the back it shows his care towards you,if one wraps his hands around you it shows his love towards you,you may think it's silly but its true you can try it!

Well same like u when ever I meet with my friedns & even family members mostly I also give them a hug & we do a the hug where we wrap both arms aroung each other and squeeze tight. And I think its a good if we meet with our friends & family members & give a hug because to do this we all r feel very glad.

That is a good summary of hugs:) I usually hug friends if I haven't met them for a long time. Only if its someone I'm very close to its a bear hug otherwise just a hand shake.

I don't. There is nothing wrong with people hugging in public it's just that I feel uncomfortable when someone hugs me. I like my space. It is different if it's my kids or family though.
