murder. I am open to opinions, as I will tell you my story, all I ask is you not be rude. I can deal with direct responses. Here it is, my daughter, who is 8, has stated on occasion she wants to be an actress. Now this may change tomorrow who knows. She also wants to be a rock star. As I am her mother, I believe she can do anything. She has some work to do however, as she is a little behind with her reading and math skills. However, I did tell her, she can do whatever she wants when she catches up. My city is offering acting classes to children 9 yrs and up...How do you feel about children doing this???? Do you think children should be children, and over zealous parents should let them be. OR if all ducks are in a row, let the child experiment with their free time. Here is my opinion....I believe children should be children......and when my child is reading adequately, I see nothing wrong with her doing a little acting class here and there. She has had plenty of other classes, and I would like to say I'm a fair parent, and want to raise a well rounded daughter. I am not one for having makeup and all of that....however.... okay now give me your best, or worst, and thank you.

Well, your daughter is 8, so she kind of knows what she wants. I would let her experiment and take some classes - it's not going to hurt! Yes, children should be children, but we also have to support them in what they want to do -unless it's illegal and/or dangerous. I'd say go for it! Good luck!

thank you! I really am going to let her do it, she has some learning difficulties. She's had 3 open heart surgeries....she's entitled, and she works very hard. I decided long ago, I would support any occupation my daughters chose. Within reason of course! Thanks for the support, and have a great night!
