Ok it seems most of the worlds races and the prejudice against them have been covered here except one...and I'm gonna put my 2 cents worth in for my people...Native Americans..just think of the normal conditions on reservations and the still growing problems they face. Ok, so now we know that every single color and race have their own set of problems. Yes, Black people have had it bad, so have Jewish people, Mexicans, Middle Eastern and Native American...yes, even the White. Every single race have their problems, and there will always be someone out there that doesn't like you, and it's a shame. Unfortunately, we'll have to deal with it I'm afraid..all we can do is go on, ignore it, and as long as you're satisfied with yourself, why really care about what someone else thinks.

I'm white but I've had numerous black friends and coworkers who've told me some stories about what happens to them somtimes, and it's pretty disgraceful. I think it's even worse for black males. Ask just about any black man if he's ever been pulled over while driving down the street and had his car searched, while he was just minding his own business. You'll be surprised. And some of them even manage to have a sense of humor about it. Imagine that.

I do not agree and yet I do not disagree. I am white but that does not in any way make be better or worse than you. I worked for the government for over 25 years and have had the pleasure of working with many black for whom I have great respect. We treated each other as equals...color was not the issue....respect was. However, I do have one gripe about the blacks families that have been citizens of the United States for generations. Why is it that blacks born in the United States want to be referred to as Afro-Americans rather than just plain ole simple Americans. Is it that they have more pride in being considered Africans than Americans? Not in a boasting way because what I am about to say and 55 centimos (c. $.40) will get me a coffee expresso, but I am seventeenth generation american. My heritage is English, Scotish, Irish and French, all passengers aboard the Mayflower who arrived in 1620. How do I present myself, as compared to Afro-Americans, Hispanic Americans, etc.? Am I Anglo-Irish-Scotch-Franco American? I think not. I am American born and bred and I am proud of that fact. Just because I am a descendent of William the Conquerer and the Duke of Wellington doesn't make me any better nor less than any other American. I believe it is about time that we dispense with all other "tags" of Americans. Either we are are or we aren't Americans. Be proud that you are American but never forget where your ancester's came from. But please don't put tags where they, in my opinion, don't belong. We are the United States but if we choose to be set apart by "tags" then we will begin to disintegrate before our very eyes. I have found that as a white I have been discriminated against by blacks because I am in the majority. Is that any more unfair that those who are discriminated against because they are latinos, micks, or whatever "tag" people put on them. I think it is about time for Americans to take up the cry first ignited by Aesop: United we stand, divided we fall. We have to get on the same wave length. We have to turn off the lights....in darkness there is no difference we are all of the same color, race and creed. But this darkness can be overcome if we unite in our acceptance of everyone and erase the "tags" that have been placed upon us. Be proud to be an American regardless of what has come before. The past is gone. We live today. What will happen tomorrow? All over the world people call us Americans. Let's not forget that Canadians, Mexicans, Costa Ricans, Brazilians, Colombians, etc, etc, are all Americans too. Unfortunately we are not known as Unitedstatesians.....it is too cumbersome. We are citizens of the United States. Be proud of your heritage, whatever it may be, but for God's sakes start thinking like an American and be proud whether you are native born or naturalized. End of soapbox speech. This is a subject very near and dear to my heart and I would like to see my people and the world come together as one. If we can't fight our own "battles" at home then why should anyone in the the US or the world think we can HELP solve problems elsewhere. Either stand up as an American or sit down and forever hold your peace.

hahaha, Your comment is fairly ignorant Persia, but it reminded me of a comedian I saw, and I can't remember who, because I'd like to give him credit for the funny annecdote... He was talking about racism and how blacks and Mexicans have it rough... He was then talking about how 9/11 was a temporary window for them to be part of America as Americans... Then he turned to his Middle Eastern friend and said "tag, your it, have fun with the hate"! Not sure if I did the joke justice, but I really think racism will never end and what's even more of a problem is coming from a poorer area! less oppurtunity less chances of making it in this world!

Yes black people have it bad in america....And so does every other race. It's because ignorant people cannot seem to grasp the concept that we are all people and all equal. You don't see dogs discriminating against other breeds. To me the concept is overly simple. Am I from another planet or what? Because sometimes I think I am. Average White Woman in USA

Who ever told you go back to Africa is a stupid bigot. Don't let those people get you down. Maybe they are just wishing that they had such beautiful chocolate colored skin. I love your skin! Plus African American people seem to age so gracefully. My friend is like 35 and she looks like she is 20. On the other hand, I am 22 and I look like am 30 :)

No dogs are discriminating against each other, but they also enslave other breeds. it is easy for yoou to say that. How many times have you been discriminated against? Do u know how it feels to go shopping and have people tell u to go back to Africa? I ain't neva been there! what do u mean go back? it is very hard to simply compare our complicated race with mongrels.

Um actually, I have it the worst, not you. I dont even know all of background. Black people have it the easiest. White people have the worst now that i think about it. They gotta keep runnin from the black people. I would be tired of runnin, i ran track and that was the worst so that's how i know. actually i take back everything i said, Middle easterns have it the worst, they can only get hired at convienent stores where i come from.

It is not true at all. Jewish people have been hated since the beginning of time, and the prejudices against them today are awful.

I think that before 9/11, this was probably true. But currently, with the political and social climate how it is, the racial curve ahas swung to those of Middle Eastern descent. Middle Easterners have become, in the minds of many Americans, 'the enemy'. They're now turned down for jobs, turned down for places to live, spoken out against and all lumped together as terrorists. I remember talking to a woman who was *proud* that she had slammed the door in the face of a Middle Eastern woman.

I live in Canada and I don't think we see as much prejudice as the States. I could be wrong. There are problems between the goverment and natives regarding land deals. But you don't hear as much about things like ratical shootings or stuff like that.

It actually falls on the kind of person you're dealing with. I myself get the same treatment as you (I am asian by the way). Believe it or not, a lot of us here think black people are the coolest in the USA since they excel in music and sports and we share the same passion. Also, in my opinion, your body structures are to die for. :)

I think there is prejudice in every race because there will always be someone who hates a particular race whether white, black, red or yellow. It is true that it is worse in the Southern states, but mostly with people who were born and raised in that area. My best friend in Germany was an African-American girl named Janice. We spent the night at each others homes, played softball together (boy could she hit a ball and run fater than lightening). I would like so much to find her again to see what she is up to but lost touch when our fathers were stationed to new places over the years. There are truly beautiful people in every race because beauty comes from within also.

I think to a certain extent depending where you live depends on how you'll be treated. White, Black, Asians, we all get treated negative in different places. But what kills me is that, when i wear suits people comment me all the time, espacially whites. Not to be funny but I moved from the urban community to a more populated whites community. When I wear my urban gear they wont even speak to me unless there my age and know me as far as college. I dont feel thats right. But hey it happens to all. I love white, black and all races as long as you respect me I respect you.
