How many of you wives have to constantly pick up after your husbands?

I am a husband and I have been married to the same woman for 25 years. I do things that are annoying, yes, but my wife never has to pick up behind me. I do slack off at times but only for a second or two and I will actually go back and pick up what I left behind. I try to teach that to my son telling him I was the laziest kid going and was always being yelled at for any messes I left. I tell him at some point in my life I decided to clean up after myself. I am still lazy in that way, but I tell myself each and every time to do it anyways and I do. but it's not automatic.

I have to constantly pick up after my husband! He leaves his plates for me to pick up after a meal, and the trash can and sink are about a couple feet away! He could reach it with his hands! How do I get him to do what you have?

Well that can be a tough one. It just sounds like you are a slave there. Or does he pay you well for all the work you do on his behalf. I would talk with him and ask him if he does this on purpose because you have done something to him. Of course he is going to say "No" then ask him if he would consider helping out by cleaning up. Then ask him if it would help if you made a list of things for him to do and keep it on the fridge. When my wife makes a list of things to be done I get them all done as soon as I can so the list doesn't get too long. :) If he is not willing to do this then you are his slave. no question.

I am very guilty of this (hangs arms for handcuffs) I do help clean and take out the garbage, clean the cats litter box etc. but my wife is always picking up after me. If I get a drink I always leave it on my desk as a habit and wake up for it to be in the sink, and a little note on the counter. :)

I do that also but I have gotten in the habit of turning around and going back to get what I left behind. Even though I have been doing this for 25 years I still have to remind myself and turn around and go back to get what I leave behind Thanks for your admission :)
