What is it? Did anything get on your "last nerve" and do you have any tips for expectant dads? I'm writing a book. Tell me about it! Thanks, Cathie the birthlady

This is an exciting,,,and dificult time, for the woman and the man. Can be very stressful on the relationship during pregnancy and after for the first year or so. To often I have seen women become mothers and are no longer a friend,,,or lovers with there man. Intamacy is gone, and Life has arived. Having a child the first time seems like such an overwhelming event. Its scary, but really, its quite natural. The more the couple can be a team, regonising each others needs and comforting each other, the easier and more fun it will be. I am a father four times. I have knowticed that the man normally gets left out, like he is just a servant. He dosent have any phyical changes going on, but his partner dose, and he knows it is dificult. He has a huge job of taking care of her, plus his own concerns about being a father and husband. Having a child is a team event. It is something both the woman and the man are going through. It is a huge change for both. Learning what you can and going to classes together, supporting each other. Trusting your instinks about rising a child. Talking with each other about your outlook on rising your child, listening to each other, trusting each other, all will help. Intimacy living on through and after childbirth has been the most dificult part I have noticed for me and others. Love is best not rushed into. You have to be Very close to smooth out the bumps. Everything is so new and unknown normaly when a child first comes along, we are so young. Building and having a DEEP Friendship first will get you a Long way !!!
